Customers are advised by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to exercise caution when buying mobile phones from the market.
Customers have been warned by PTA to be wary of duplicate or cloned mobile gadgets. In a statement released on social media, PTA emphasized that the public should be careful when buying mobile devices.Make sure the phone has a guarantee and only buy phones from reputable retailers.
PTA recommended purchasing phones that were packaged in boxes, ensuring sure the phone's IMEI number matches the box's IMEI number, and looking for the PTA stamp on the box. PTA has advised users to use the DVS app, text the IMEI number to 8484, or validate their handsets on the website https://dirbs.pta.gov.pk.
The public has been advised to avoid purchasing expensive devices at very low prices or without a warranty and to always ensure they buy box-packed mobile devices.It has also been suggested that individuals should get in touch with the merchant and notify the FIA if they become a victim of a fraud.
