The 15-member squad of the Pakistan cricket team has been finalized for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 is being jointly hosted by the United States and the West Indies, with the tournament featuring a record 20 teams. All teams, besides Pakistan, have already announced their squads for the mega event. The announcement of Pakistan's final 15-member squad will take place after the first T20 match against England on May 22nd. However, sources have revealed that the Green Shirts' 15-member squad has been finalized for the World Cup.
According to sources, Pakistan's 15-member squad includes 5 fast bowlers, 4 all-rounders, 2 wicketkeeper-batsmen, 3 established batsmen, and one specialist spinner. As per sources, Babar Azam will lead the team in the mega event, with Saif Ali, Osman Khan, Fakhar Zaman, and Mohammad Rizwan included as openers and top-order batsmen. In the middle order, wicketkeeper-batsman Azam Khan and Fakhar Zaman are joined by all-rounders Shadab Khan and Imad Wasim.The fast bowling attack will consist of Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Amir, Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah, and Abbas Afridi, while the 15-member squad will also include mystery spinner Ibrar Ahmed.
Sources have revealed that three players will travel with Pakistan's 15-member squad as touring reserves, including Salman Ali Agha, Hassan Ali, and Irfan Niazi. It should be noted that the Pakistan Cricket Board had announced the kit for the national team for the T20 World Cup before the tour of Ireland, which was named 'Matrix Jersey 2024'
